Surgeons Made A Sculpture Of What Humans Would Look Like If Designed To Survive Car Crashes And It's DISGUSTING

The Guardian- If humans had continued to evolve to the point where we could withstand car crashes, we might look something like Graham, according to the Transport Accident Commission in the Australian state of Victoria. Graham – “the only person designed to survive on our roads” – is an interactive sculpture developed by a trauma surgeon, a crash investigation expert and a Melbourne artist as part of Towards Zero, a Victorian road safety campaign. He has no neck, meaning he cannot break it; a flat, fatty face to protect the nose and ears; airbags in between each rib; and thicker and tougher skin. His knees bend in all directions. A confronting 360-degree view of Graham – made from silicone, fibreglass, resin and human hair – can be seen online.

Fucking GROSS. Thank god we didn’t evolve to survive car crashes. I would much rather be open to having my neck snapped in a fender bender than have to look like that. And that’s coming from a guy who is probably closer looking to whatever that sculpture thing is than a normal human being. Although who knows, if we all looked like that sculpture and never knew what we could’ve looked like, maybe Graham (the sculpture’s name) would be like the Brad Pitt of that universe. Who knows. It’s hard to say. All I know is I’m glad that thing isn’t a real person so I can make fun of it. What is the point of making a sculpture like that? I’m guessing it’s to show how unequipped the human body is to handle car crashes but it’s main function is going to be chasing people around in their nightmares.
