A Man At A Target Got So Pissed At A Mom Because She Popped A Tit Out To Breastfeed In A Food Court
WFSB – The man apparently left the store very shortly thereafter.
“The amount of people coming at me to defend me was amazing,” [the mom Jessie] Maher said. “Everyone that was right in that area was there for me defending me, so it felt really good.”
In Connecticut, it is a legally protected right to breast feed in Connecticut. Women can breastfeed in public places and workplaces or to express milk.
“At Target, we want all of our guests to feel comfortable shopping with us. Our breastfeeding policy, which applies to all stores, is just one of the ways in which we support our guests. Guests who choose to breastfeed in public areas of the store are welcome to do so without being made to feel uncomfortable,” Target said in a statement on Monday.
This is one of those cases where I’m blown away at this dude’s inability to pick and choose his battles. Even ignoring the fact that it’s completely legal for this lady to dump em out and feed her kid wherever, this is one of those situations where there is no way it ends well for you these days. The odds were heavily in favor of someone spotting that situation and filming it and, given how aggressive women are about breastfeeding online, there’s a decent chance it could lead to this dude’s whole world crashing down around him in that “2016 social justice” way that’s all the rage. If she’s being genuine about him calling her a “whore” for feeding her kid he might be a literal crazy person whose brain was broken by seeing unexpected milky nipples. But otherwise if you’re out in public like that, it’s deranged to be this dramatic about breastfeeding. Risky for your whole life, unnecessary to this lady, and overall just a dick move. I’m not sure what it is about these types of people gravitating towards Target but they need to start some sort of free trade program with Walmart to figure out their brand a little better.
And while what the defender lady did was nice and the right move…you could just tell she’s one of those ladies who LOVES being part of a situation like this. It was a great thing to do, absolutely, but you know somewhere on the internet this woman has a Facebook status talking about how she bravely came to this breastfeeding mom’s defense and singlehandedly fought off the evil ogre. I’m halfway surprised she didn’t pull out a camera for it too, probably one she wishes she had back.
