Telling jokes and being funny for a living then having to address a national tragedy is almost impossible to do. I know it’s hard enough to do it in blog form, to transition from trying to make people laugh every 30 minutes to seriously cover a horrible story – can’t even imagine doing it up on a stage in front of a live audience that is so used to rapid fire punchlines and movie star interviews and drinking games. Always impressive to see how well these guys handle it though.

After so many mass shootings, “it’s as if there’s a national script that we have learned, and I think that by accepting the script we tacitly accept that the script will end the same way every time with nothing changing, except for the loved ones and families of the victims, for whom nothing will ever be the same. … Love gives us the courage to act. Love gives us hope that change is possible. Love allows us to change the script. So love your country, love your family, love the families and the victims and the people of Orlando.”

“This (shooter) was just one bad guy here. Forty-nine good people, and one bad guy. And there will always be more good than evil. When I think of Orlando, I think of nothing but fun and joy and families. If anyone can do it, you can. Keep loving each other, keep respecting each other, and keep on dancing.”
