Golfers Have Arrived At Oakmont For The US Open And The Course Looks Impossible

Happy US Open week everybody! Not so happy for the golfers who have already arrived and realized that Oakmont is going to be borderline impossible. Lightning fast greens and rough just off the fairway that pretty much goes up to their knees. The golfers might not like it but I do. I love it. Sure, I enjoy watching golfers demolish an easy course now and again but the most fun is watching them get pushed around the ring by a tough golf course. Oakmont is gonna do that and it’ll be great. Remember Chambers Bay last year? The course was an absolute disaster but also kinda fun to watch. Because at the end of the day all the guys have to play on the same course so it’s even. Again, it’s fun to watch these guys shoot in the mid-to-low-60s every round but it’s also fun to watch them have to scratch and claw just to stay around par. About a month and a half ago Jordan Spieth said that even par was going to be the winning score at Oakmont and it looks like he’s gonna be right. Those videos and pictures just got me super pumped for this tournament.

PS- I’m significantly less pumped for Fox to have the US Open coverage again but you can’t win’em all.
