China, In 2016, Made A Detergent Ad In Which A Black Guy Gets Shoved Into A Washing Machine And Comes Out A Pretty Asian Man

Shanghaiist- As any foreigner who has ever lived in China can attest, attitudes regarding race and skin color are often quite different here from back home. Still even with prior experience, sometimes this country can leave you completely and utterly dumbfounded.

Such is the case with a recent incredibly racist advertisement for Qiaobi-brand laundry detergent that has been making the rounds on WeChat. According to one young lady on Weibo the ad appeared on television and before movies at Wanda Cinemas this month.

Listen I’ll be the first one to admit this ad is racist as hell given that they’re basically saying their detergent is so great that it’ll take off both the paint and filthy melanin-filled pigmentation you hate in your skin. And it is absolutely insane that they’d run something like that knowing that’s the basic plot of their lighthearted and whimsical ad. BUT at the same time, it’s just so far right of what we’re used to here that there’s something sort of charming about it? Like when you see the Amish out there with their horse and buggies throwing up a barn — I assume we’re all regularly keeping tabs on the Amish, just in case — and you’re like “Aww, that’s quaint, what a simpler time.” That’s China here. Just zero fucks given for PC culture like the rest of the world. I mean yes if you publicly disagree with the commercial someone may abduct and beat you but life is all about trade-offs.

Also while we’re not being PC, I assume since the guy was just cleaned in the machine he somehow kept the presumptive size discrepancy in dicks? Because if that’s the case, if I’m a black dude walking around any washing machines in China sometime soon I’d keep an eye out. Girls can’t know the amazing power in their hands with the cleaning strength of Qiaobi. A nation of women who haven’t even been allowed to be born at times also suddenly learning about the existence of huge dicks can’t be good for anyone involved.
