Michael Strahan Quits "Live With Kelly And Michael" To Join Good Morning America, As Tiki Barber Probably Weeps Somewhere
Variety- ABC is counting on former football player Michael Strahan to help it gain new ground in TV’s ever-intensifying morning-news wars. Strahan, who has become a near-ubiquitous TV presence with his stints as a commentator for Fox Sports’ football coverage, the host of a new kid-award franchise on Nickelodeon, and, in recent years, an energizing force on the Disney-syndicated morning program “Live! With Kelly and Michael,” will join ABC’s “Good Morning America” on a full-time basis starting in September, ABC said Tuesday morning. He will retain his duties as a football analyst for Fox.
“Michael has been a stellar addition to the broadcast. Over the past two years on ‘GMA,’ he’s proven to be a tireless and versatile broadcaster with an incredible ability to connect with people, from veterans to American pop culture icons and newsmakers,” said James Goldston, president of ABC News, in a memo to staff sent this morning. “He will end a four year run as Kelly Ripa’s co-host on ‘Live!,’ where he has honed his skills as an interviewer with genuine warmth and a quick wit. At ‘GMA,’ he’ll now have even more opportunities to tell stories that inspire, inform and empower people.
At this point Michael Strahan is just trolling Tiki Barber, right? First he gets a Super Bowl ring the year after Tiki retired while also burning a bunch of bridges back to the Meadowlands. Then Strahan gets onto Fox NFL Sunday after Tiki was working fucking overnights at WFAN. Then Stray replaces a TV legend in Regis after Tiki had already done his bid on Fox & Friends. And now this.
Strahan just quit a job Tiki would probably murder a few vagrants for and then took a job that Tiki would probably do unthinkable to those dead bodies just to get an interview. Brutal. To be honest, I don’t think Strahan even wanted to leave Kelly but just felt like it had been a little while since he dropped a news dagger to Tiki’s heart. Because this is what Tiki looks like in my mind after every Strahan career move:
At this point, what is Strahan’s end game? Hosting a late night TV show? Becoming a movie star? President? I mean it’s all on the table. Guys love him. Chicks love him. And that gap toothed smile is the perfect quirky calling card that you can build a campaign around. I’d vote for Michael Strahan as early as this November.
Also, can brothers divorce each others from being related? Because I think that may be Strahan’s finishing move to put Tiki out of his misery. He somehow becomes legal twins with Ronde as Tiki just ends it all. The cherry on top of his Red Wedding destruction of Tiki Barber.
