Marathon Bombing Survivor Patrick Downes Embracing His Wife At The Finish Line Has My Room Dusty As Hell

Lot of times on times on the internet people say that “someone’s cutting onions” or “room’s a little dusty” and they’re exaggerating but I can assure you, there’s no exaggeration here. I’ve watched that clip three times now and it’s safe to say that the eyes have welled up quite a bit. Incredibly beautiful moment shared between Patrick Downes, who lose a leg in the bombings, and his wife after he just completed the marathon on his prosthetic. Downes also completed the marathon last year as a hand cyclist but this year must have felt particularly rewarding. Can’t imagine how much pride both he and his wife felt when he ran across that finish line where his life was so altered just three years ago. Really a magnificent and inspiring scene.
