Josh Homme Of Queens Of The Stone Age Fame Caught Telling An Autograph Seeker He's A Fucking Loser

(Source) Leaving an afterparty after a show Thursday night, Homme was approached by a gentleman asking for an autograph; a teacher, no less. TMZ posted a video of Homme’s reaction to the request and, to be completely honest, it’s not pretty. The Post Pop Depression rocker straight up berated the guy, getting in his face, pointing a lot of fingers with vigor and dropping gems like, “What the f*ck do you do?” When the man calmly responded that he was a teacher, Homme asked, “Well, can you come teach my house for free?” which kind of doesn’t make sense because how do you teach a house? Regardless, the guy said yes because the guy seemed like a very nice person and Homme seemed like a playground bully. Homme also called the dude a “loser” and “spoiled motherf*cker.”

According to TMZ, Homme was operating under the assumption that the autograph-seeking teacher was a professional who was intending to sell any autograph he was able to get from Homme, prompting that reaction. It should also be noted that the teacher reportedly threw a verbal haymaker back at Homme, accusing him of “making money off us buying your $90 tickets and $30 shirts.” This predictably did not sit well with Homme. Either way, hopefully this all gets resolved soon. Seems like these two dudes shouldn’t have had a problem in the first place.

First off, this is probably a blog for a very narrow audience, but I’m writing it anyway. I know this looks bad, publicly berating some dude that wants an autograph. But guess what, Josh Homme is one of the last true “rockstars” on this planet. They’re a dying breed. The guys that shred on the guitar, drink whiskey by the gallon, wear leather jackets un ironically, and will put a cigarette out in your eyeball if you look at them the wrong way. I know that sounds fucked up to be applauding that type of behavior but I don’t care. That’s why rockstars are rockstars. I don’t want my teachers, doctors, and general population acting like this, but my rockstars? Fuck yeah. They get to say the shit no one else does, they get to have an attitude that even athletes can’t have. They get to spit in people’s eyes and pick up any chick they want. That’s what being a rockstar is. So if that means calling some autograph seeker outside a bar a “fucking loser” then so be it. Josh Homme is a rock legend, his anger in this video plays.

2. When I was like 18 years old I saw Queens of The Stone Age at the old Cubs Care Park in the middle of what used to be Cabrini Green (now a movie theater and Target). They’re like midway through their set and some punk kid throws something on stage that just misses one of the guys in the band. So Josh Homme stops the entire show mid song, points out the guy in the crowd, puts the spotlight on him and verbally berates him for a solid 2 minutes straight in front of the entire show. Called him every single name under the book. Took him down to his absolute core. Told him he was going to skull fuck his mother. Then when he was done, he hopped right back into the song exactly where he had left off. That’s a Rock star.
