I don’t know Jeff Skversky from a hole in the wall, so I’m holding out hope that he’s just a goofy guy? I’m praying that he’s like a zany sportscaster who likes to be tongue-in-cheek and funny? That’s what I keep telling myself, at least, because anything else and I might just give up hope on this whole planet. Kevin already blogged this morning about how insane it is that Philly, as a whole, is laying claim to this championship. And while that is crazy, this is the most bonkers thing I’ve ever seen. Philly is the city of champions because a private college that plays some games inside the city limits won a national championship? WHAT?! Guess it’s true what they say: if you give a mouse a cookie, it’s going to want a glass of milk and if you give Philadelphia an ounce of joy it’s going to act like it’s god’s gift to sports.

Just to make a conversation out of it, here’s Boston’s championships dating back to 1975 if we get to count private colleges. We’re not even fancy enough to have an arena football team, but we still come close to measuring up.
