Big Day In Carolina
There’s no way around it, going 15-1 during the regular season just to be rewarded with the Seahawks in our first playoff game sucks. The NFL is a quarterback driven league and the outcome of the game is going to reflect his performance almost every single time, so facing a Super Bowl caliber guy like Russell Wilson is obviously not ideal. However, that same line of thinking also gives me a lot of confidence with a healthy Cam Newton behind center. There’s something to be said about someone who you can count on to show up when the lights are bright, and whether it’s been the Juco National Championship, FBS National Championship, Monday Night Football, or Thanksgiving Day, Cam’s been a monster to deal with. If you’re coming out of the AFC, the last person in the world that you want to see across the field is number one in black and blue. I also think have a championship caliber defense that nobody—Russell Wilson included—is going to put big numbers on. I think Kuechly and Coleman have big days, Wilson gives us a run for our money, but Cam’s just too much and we’re on to the Cardinals.
With that being said, I’m anxious. Not nervous—anxious.
