Mick Foley Is PISSED At WWE, Echoes The Sentiments Of Many Fans

If there is one guy who has given his life to the wrestling business, it’s Mick Foley. He’s given blood, body parts, and very, very likely multiple years off the end of his life for the business. So if there is one guy who we should pay attention to when he calls out Vince McMahon and the WWE, it’s Mick Foley. It doesn’t mean Mick’s opinion matters than anyone else’s, or that he is necessarily right about everything he’s saying, but he certainly knows what he’s talking about, that’s for sure. And his long Facebook posts goes hand in hand with everything I’ve written the last couple of years- Vince is out of touch, the product as a whole stinks for the most part, and something has to be done.

The thing about wrestling is while a lot of it can suck, there will still be great matches by these super-entertaining athletes that remind you why you watch it. The falls they take, the pain they endure, all for our entertainment, is why we watch. Where WWE has been failing is with building stories that make sense, building superstars that the audience likes and relates to, and putting on a fresh, entertaining, must-watch television show every Monday. They just don’t do that. Vince picks his guy, right now it’s Roman Reigns, and runs with it. He tried his hardest to kill Daniel Bryan’s momentum. He killed Bray Wyatt’s momentum. Openly said Cesaro doesn’t have  “it”, when he clearly has “it”. Vince is old and out of touch, the writers and creative behind the scenes are awful, and even worse- they are awful while trying to appease Vince. When one guy has the final say on everything, would you write something you like, or would you write what you think the boss will like? That’s why the WWE is the way it is right now.

Meanwhile down in NXT everything is awesome, as usual. The stories make sense, the matches are awesome, and the entertainment continues to shine, despite them losing their top guys and girls to the main roster. Everyone is worried Bayley, who has potential to be HUGE, will get lost in the shuffle up on the main roster because they simply don’t know how to book women, or anyone, really.

Mick is already in the doghouse with WWE for doing things like this before. This certainly will not help. Blatant slap in the face of the boss. He’ll probably regret it later, but man, big balls to just not give a fuck.
