Dickie V Has Maryland At #2 In His Preseason Poll

There’s only one person I trust with my life/college basketball, and that person is Dickie V. While sometimes it was hard to like him because of the Duke slurping, he’s still Dickie V and still a living legend. And once he started Tweeting, and he tweets the exact same way he talks, he just added to his legend. So if he had Maryland as his preseason #2, even though it’s a bit low, I’m going to have to be ok with it. It’s not nearly as disrespectful as being #3 in the USA Today coach’s poll, that’s for sure.

And let’s just put this out here right now: The regular season is going to be a ton of fun for Maryland. March Madness is going to send me to an early grave. This is one of those times where I have every right to be infinitely optimistic about one of my teams. Same with the Caps. If history serves me well, it’s not going to end well for me. It’s already hard enough to win a National Championship as it is, the DC Sports curse and the fact good things don’t happen to me make it even harder. But fuck you if you think I’m not going to remain as optimistic and hopeful as possible. You just can’t go through life expecting the worst. You have to believe in something. I believe in the Terps and the Caps. And only the most negative assholes can’t respect that.
