This Very Cool Video Makes It Seem Like Whales Are Man's Best Friend Out On The Water
HP – We knew whales were big, but this puts it into a whole new perspective. Dave Price was stand-up paddleboarding in waters off Esperance, Australia, when a pair of inquisitive Southern Right whales approached him. Thanks to Esperance local Jaimen Hudson, who launched his quadcopter drone after hearing of the whales, the encounter was captured from above — a vantage point that shows just how large the animals are in comparison to Price and his board. Hudson told ABC Esperance that the encounter seemed completely safe and that the whales were curious about Price. “The whales moved to where he was,” Hudson said. “The whole time they were very slow-moving and peaceful.”
I might be changing my tune on whales. Every video with them is terrifying, but they never kill any humans, despite being 50 feet long and 10,000 pounds. They just swim around and end up minding their own business…well besides that one time
But besides that, every time we see whales and humans nose to nose, they somehow don’t turn us into 4th meal. I respect the hell out of that. Maybe humans and whales have some sort of connection that we didn’t even know existed. We look out for them, they look out for us. We have dogs on land, whales in the water. Not a bad 1-2 punch if you ask me. I’m now fully on #teamwhale. But only on the water. Let me make that clear. Not #teamwhale on land. Lose some weight baby girl.
