"Texas Football In Shambles" Update: Longhorns Players Openly Fighting On Twitter
…
When it rains it pours in Austin. A disaster of a weekend featuring a 1 thousand point loss, disgruntled players retweeting at halftime, and a professional baseball club calling for your job…
…just got worse. Players openly sniping at each other on Twitter. Upperclassmen vs. freshmen. Locker room looking as bad as the product out on the field every Saturday.
I think a lot of the time head coaches take a lot of blame that they don’t really deserve – when you get paid the big bucks to be the head man in charge, that comes with the territory, you get the praise when you’re successful and the blame/firing when you’re not. But most reasonable people know that problems in a program are widespread and you can’t just pick one thing out, change it and boom you’re good. Charlie Strong is obviously not the only thing wrong with Texas.
But the fact that you have guys retweeting people at HALFTIME on their personal cell phones saying they should transfer, and openly having Twitter spats all over the place kind of shows that you’ve lost all control whatsoever. I mean what D1 football player who respects and has a healthy fear of their coach would do stuff like this? Not just one bad apple, but a handful of guys now? Pretty crazy.
The midget picture may have been photoshopped, but the lack of control on this team is very very real.
