Paige Spiranac Said She's Received 10,000 Death Threats Over Cheating Allegations During The Final Round Of "The Internet Invitational" Golf Tournament

Folks, America's favorite golfer and our good friend Paige Spiranac has had a rough few weeks out there.

After the first 3 episodes of The Internet Invitational dropped last month, she got immediately bullied into tears via some of the meanest DMs in human history. All because she was chirping other golfers in a tournament for ONE MILLION DOLLARS? I guess that's why they call them trolls. Just petty as hell.

And keep in mind she's no stranger to the bowels of Twitter & Instagram, she's been a content creator on here for a damn decade. So those messages simply had to be oozing with some truly elite hate.

You can catch up on that whole saga below.

And unfortunately for her, that hate continued into our grand finale too. Was it warranted? Was it cheating?

Well when it comes to golf, I don't know shit about fuck. So this issue is gonna be in the eye of the beholder to decide. I will fully admit though, I do love that it inspired many a pageview out there. Trampling down some grass GETS THE PEOPLE GOING!

(SOURCE) - During the alternate-shot matchup, Spiranac was accused of cheating after English pro golfer and YouTuber Peter Finch noticed her trampling down some grass in front of a ball in the rough. Doing so improved the lie for teammate Togisala.

After Togisala plays an incredible escape, Portnoy is seen asking if “Paige put that on a tee” for him.

“That lie in the rough there, it was s—. Paige has gone ahead to the ball and literally pressed down all the long in front so he could hit it out,” Finch said, with a clip showing Spiranac appeared to bend over and press down the long grass with her hands.

“There’s no way he could have hit that shot without that.” Finch discussed it with a playing partner before deciding to wait to see how the hole played out before bringing up the violation.

Spiranac’s team wound up losing the hole, making it a non-issue, but the blond bombshell was given a heads up from Finch.

“I thought you could do that. I didn’t realize you couldn’t do that. I didn’t move the ball,” Spiranac said. After Ellis replied that “you can’t stomp around in long grass and create a clear path behind or in front of the ball,” Spiranac became very emotional, reiterating that she “wasn’t trying to cheat.”

“I would never do that,”

According to the Rules of Golf, what Spiranac did was a violation – Rule 8.1 states under “course played as it is found” – says “actions that are not allowed” include “move, bend or break any growing or attached natural object.”

There's the whole final episode if you want a taste of the full competition. I know golfers LOVE to get caught up in the tradition & honor of the game, but the whole internet wanting to murder Paige for that seemingly innocent boof does seem a smidge harsh.

Not to mention her team didn't win that hole anyway? Maybe just loosen the bolts a bit out there guys. America's favorite golfer deserves love & a nice seafood dinner, not endless hate & a load of death threats. In fact I'm gonna go out on a limb here and make a brave bold claim… Someone who looks this good should NOT be treated that bad. SUE ME!

But of course you're free to disagree. That's your God given right as a red blooded American. Just don't expect to ever see me rooting against Paige in any form of forum.

And fingers crossed she returns for redemption in the Internet Invitational sequel next summer. As the kids say, it's already shaping up to be a goddamn MOVIE out there with Caitlin Clark & Kai Trump possibly involved. Can't wait.
