Police At Arizona College Bar Arrest 249 Underage Drinkers AT ONCE During Massive Raid Involving 57 Law Enforcement Agents

Source - The police have arrested 249 people at ONE bar for underage drinking — in the second raid this year. The Tempe Police Department made the arrests during an underage alcohol enforcement operation on November 20, 2025, at Tempe Tavern, Arizona.

Arrests were made after the police department received multiple complaints from community members about underage drinking at the bar on various dates and times recently.

Approximately 57 law enforcement officers made contact at the bar and conducted an investigation that led to 249 arrests of underage patrons for charges including, but not limited to, possessing fake IDs, underage intoxication, and providing false information. Out of the 249 arrests, 246 were released, and three were booked into the Tempe City Jail.

This is not the first time police have made multiple arrests at Tempe Tavern. On April 28, 2025, 173 individuals, with fake identification documents, were nabbed for underage drinking.

The Department of Liquor Licenses and Control will be the lead agency for any pending administrative liquor law violations.

Happy Thanksgiving, Mom! What a way to start the holiday season. One second you're enjoying an underage holiday drink (the best kind) and the next you're in jail with two-HUNDRED-and-forty-nine of your closest friends. How this bar continued to operate after the first bust is beyond me...but I'm glad it did. The core memories they're creating for those kids are worth more than the $10 million in fines they'll ultimately face. And the photos of the "raid" are incredible...

Ahh to be young...

That said, I'm still confused as to why these kids didn't just run? You've got the numbers. Sure some of you will get caught, but some of you will also definitely get away. You're already in trouble you may as well risk it all. Back in the early 2000s (puke) we used to run all the time. The second the cops showed up you'd book it out the back door. Different times, I guess. We also didn't have FIFTY-SEVEN law enforcement agents showing up at once. Which if we're being honest seems like overkill. I'm not advocating for underage drinking, it's just shocking to see that many cops in one spot and then learn what they're there for. Oh well. As long as everyone got home safe and sound. See you at the bars on Wednesday!
