"The Guy Took A Cheap Shot And Hit Him In The Balls" - 49ers Jauan Jennings Was The Victim Of A Wicked Cheap Shot And The NFL Better Not Suspend Him For His Reaction

Boys are going to fight.

If you grew up with brothers, you know this. As a father of two boys, I am constantly forced into the role of referee. Their battles out in the yard can get pretty contentious. I'm not too proud to tell you that on multiple occasions, I have yelled out, "not in the balls," as I can hear the brotherly battle escalating, having explained on numerous occasions that it's a cheap shot, and well, you just don't do it.

The Panthers' Tre'von Moehrig has no interest in following my "not in the balls" rule.

Late night in one of the worst Monday Night Football games of the year, Moehrig hit 49ers WR Jauan Jennings right in the nuts with a left-hand mini-uppercut. Keep an eye on the upper right-hand corner at the start of the clip above, as Moehrig winds up and lands the punch to the privates.

That's a still shot of Moehrig's left hook to the nuts.

From this angle, you can see Moehrig grab Jennings' jersey, almost hockey fight style, as he lands the low blow. Just some dirty, dirty stuff. Jennings was understandably upset and went after Moehrig after the game.

Thankfully, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan has Jennings' back in the postgame.

"Yeah the guy took a cheap shot and hit him in the balls. I was real proud of Jauan for not losing his mind out there."

Hell yeah, Kyle. 100% agreement from this blogger. And I don't want to see people in the comments telling me anything goes, this is football, blah blah blah. Game was over, 49ers had a win in hand - this is some weak stuff from Moehrig; there's no defense.

Jennings should not face ANY punishment from the league for his postgame reaction.

"Responding to some childish behavior, that's all that was."

Exactly, kids do stuff like this - kids who maybe don't know any better. Moehrig has no excuse. I'd suspend him for a game before I thought about any punishment for Jennings.

But let this be a reminder to the dads and moms out there. Before the kids head out to the backyard for some Turkey Bowl Thanksgiving Football on Thursday, maybe remind them about proper football etiquette. And to not do this.
