Let The Boys Play: Everton's Idrissa Gueye Got A Red Card For Trying To Fight His Own Teammate On The Field

Wait a damn minute here. Since when can't you have a little kerfuffle with your teammates? Feel like that's the last thing you should be given a red card for. You gotta let the boys figure it out and not all of a sudden send a guy off because he may or may not have slapped a teammate. They'll take care of that in the locker room. Not even sure how you get to this point. A ref can't see two guys wearing the same color scrapping and decide it's worthy of a red card. That's not a foul!

We're only 13 minutes into the match when this happened too. Penalizing a team because they want to fight each other seems like a ref problem. It's why I don't like them. Also, would this happen in any other sport? I can't recall any other sport where guys got sent off for trying to fight teammates. Camera going to them on the bench or on the sidelines? Absolutely. But it's called time and place. It's called competitive fire between teammates. We gotta change the rulebook here

Again, I'm not saying you should be fighting your teammates. But, maybe there's something to this. Everton is now up 1-0 as I blog this. They'll take care of this situation at the training ground. Get ready to run laps and all that sort of stuff. I don't want to live in a world where you can't slap a teammate and get a red card.
