Lost In The Shuffle Of That Boring SNF Blowout Was Cris Collinsworth Bringing Back The Collinsworth Slide For His 500th Career Broadcast

Listen, when they ask you what you remembered about Sunday night football it isn't going to be the 34-7 Rams blowout of the Cheah-driven Bucs. More times than not this season, the primetime games have been wildly disappointing. There's nothing fun about sitting in front of your television screen after 7 hours of (some commercials) RedZone football and getting a dud of a game to finish the night. Then you're sitting there with your hands in your pants wondering why you just spent 10 straight hours on your couch rather than touching some grass that day.
But when Collinsworth brings back the slide, you watch, and you remember. I don't know why people give him so much criticism as an announcer: in my book he's one of the best to ever do it and the hate of him seems incredibly forced. Sure, the slide doesn't hit the same without Al, but you can't watch that slide and not have a tear come from your eye.
And Collinsworth has a long list of people he's gotten to share the booth with:
The more things change the more they stay the same. What a moment. Mr. Sunday night indeed.
