Nightmare Scenario For Bucs - Lay An Egg In Primetime And Baker Mayfield Injured
Javier Rojas. Shutterstock Images. The Bucs laid an egg in primetime on Sunday Night Football in Los Angeles playing a Rams team that may very well be the best team in the NFL. After giving up eight completions in eight passing attempts to Matthew Stafford as the Rams marched down the field for an easy touchdown, the Bucs gave up another seven on this play.
Things began to get ugly as the lead ballooned to 21-0 with the Rams on top.
Baker stayed in and seemed fine. He actually threw this touchdown pass to Tez Johnson just a few plays later.
Immediately after this play, he went to the blue medical tent to get checked out. He did return ot the game the following series, but on the Hail Mary to end the half, it became clear Baker was too injured to continue a game that had clearly gotten away from the team.
He was listed as doubtful to return in the 2nd half and ruled out officially minutes later.
As for their playoff hopes, the Bucs are in danger of losing the division lead on Monday Night if the Panthers beat the 49ers after officially losing 34-7 to the Rams. The rest of the season is fairly favorable for Tampa.

vs. Carolina
So they control their own destiny, but they really need Baker to not be injured too badly as Teddy Bridgewater didn't look too sharp tonight. This is a burn the tape game so let's never speak of it again. Today was miserable as a Bucs fan. Hopefully this game doesn't completely end their season. Get well soon Baker.
