It Might Be Time For The Vikings To Fake Another JJ McCarthy Ankle Sprain After What Green Bay Just Did To Him
Patrick McDermott. Getty Images.Earlier this week JJ McCarthy revealed that he felt like he was about to explode as a player. The terminology was he felt like a "cork about to come off a bottle."
If he was a cork on a bottle being opened by KOC, he shot right back in his coach's eye, blinding him so he couldn't see the play on the field.
Real quick before I go further on JJ, let's talk about Micah Parsons. Some of his haters have pointed out his lack of sacks and jumped to the conclusion that the trade wasn't worth it for Green Bay. I can't imagine watching the games and thinking that. If you saw today's game it's blatantly obvious what he does to wreck an opposing offense. A play after beating a clear holding penalty on the Vikings o-line and still managing to get the sack, Parsons lined up at LB and fucking bulldozed the center to destroy anything Minnesota had hoped to do. Wyatt came in to finish the sack off, but Parsons was the one who created all of the chaos. He's special.
Okay, back to JJ! You want to talk about a lack of pocket presence, an inability to go through your progressions, a non-existent clock in your head, poor accuracy, and no real arm talent to speak of? Well, JJ has it all!
JJ says his alter ego on the field is called "Nine." He flips the switch out there to a killer. Here's what that looked like today.
And again…
The Packers defense is excellent and they shined brightest today. Even a competent QB would have struggled out there, but JJ isn't even that.
It's gotta be depressing to see Sam Darnold succeed like he has in Seattle as well as Daniel Jones in Indy. You had both of those guys and the decision makers chose JJ as the future. If this kind of play continues the rest of the season I don't think they'll have a choice, but to draft a QB early. Bad news with that is this upcoming class isn't great to begin with. I'm sure Justin Jefferson will be fine with all of this. Have fun!
The Packers offense was fine today. LaFleur still called plays like a bitch and was far too conservative for my liking. Anthony Belton played fantastic in place of Jordan Morgan and allowed Emmanuel Wilson to step in Josh Jacobs and run well. Keep Belton in there please. Love honestly didn't have to do a whole lot today to put the Packers in a winning position, JJ McCarthy made sure of that. I like that guy.
