Khamzat Chimaev And Ian Machado Garry Almost Got Into It For No Reason Whatsoever After UFC Qatar
Khamzat Chimaev and Ian Machado Garry almost had one of the dumbest fights of all time after UFC Qatar last night.
Don't get me wrong, this is mostly on Khamzat trying to be an alpha bully or something, but I refuse to believe Ian doesn't know what he's doing here, and I like/defend him. He just loves approaching fighters with a camera rolling and capturing their interactions - he did it with Belal earlier this week....
I don't know why but it just gives bad vibes. Like you're trying to capture something that makes you look good/the other guy look bad. He does the same with Khamzat here, really for no reason at all, and Khamzat gives him a couple hard smacks on the back as he says goodbye. There's no reason for Chimaev doing this either, but Garry decides right then and there that the interaction isn't over. He gives the camera a smile and turns back to Khamzat again.

Just alphas trying to be alphas. UFC security got between them, Garry told them that's not necessary because Khamzat wouldn't fight him, and I think Khamzat took that as a challenge. He shoves Garry who then reacts like he's SHOCKED that happened! But c'mon now Ian! You knew that was probably coming!
I'm not saying Chimeav was justified to do that, but Garry was certainly playing with fire here, and the two of these knuckleheads almost got into a fight for no reason whatsoever after both riding highs; Garry for his own win versus Belal Muhammed and Khamzat for his teammate Arman Tsarukyan's win over Dan Hooker.
P.S. Apologies for being so late to blogging the card this week, yesterday was a travel day for me! Here's the best finishes from the event….
