Stathole Has Written Yet Another Anti-Bears Blog As A Bears Fan And It's Getting Me Angry

Ah yes, Stathole. "The Bears Are Frauds" brought to you by the guy who wrote the following pieces within the last month as the Bears were embarking on a 7-1 stretch

Stathole knows that Ben Johnson knows Caleb is "truly awful"…somehow.

Look, I don't know Stathole. Never met him. I think he's a good writer. Glad he's here. I just wish the calls weren't coming from inside the house.

I don't understand the term "fraud". In order to be a fraud I feel like you need the vast majority of the public crowning them as some sort of super bowl contender. I don't know ANYONE saying that. We all know that the Bears have needed miracles to get to 7-3. We all know that the Bears have played an extremely favorable schedule. And by favorable I of course mean the easiest schedule in the league so far this year. We all know that on paper the back half of the schedule looks extremely daunting. The Bears have relied on the spectacular and turnovers to get where they are.

Are the Bears "frauds"…no I don't think so. Are they flawed? EXTREMELY. We all know that. First time Head Coach. Young QB. Canadian undrafted LT. Limited pass rush. Linebackers and secondary decimated by injuries. I think most fans, and 3 of the 4 people on our show, said that the Bears would probably finish with 7 or 8 wins and as long as there was growth from Caleb and the team we'd be happy. Well…we are already there. The team has gotten steadily better. And somehow by the grace of God, Mongo, and Virginia sitting up in heaven the Bears are sitting in first place in the NFC North with 7 games to go. We are allowed to enjoy that while both recognizing what this team is and dreaming about what it could be.

What it could be…a playoff team. That would be incredible for Ben Johnson in his first year with Caleb Williams. It's all right in front of them. Split the next two games, get Gordon and Johnson back on defense and the Bears have a great chance to finish 10-7 and that should be enough for a wild card spot. That would be incredible. They'd likely be a TD underdog, but who the fuck cares. We have big games in the back half of the season in year 1. The Bears are learning how to win as they are embarking on the Johnson era. Good, better, best. Bear the fuck down. Embrace them good times when you're in them. You don't need to be pointing at the white mass on an x-ray just because the team is finally enjoyable.
