Aaron Judge Rightfully Edges Out Cal Raleigh For His 3rd Career MVP Award

Not gonna lie, it’s pretty hard for me to get up for another MVP award given that it's mid November and the Yankees season went up in flames a month ago. I'm tired of the regular season accolades. They do nothing for me. I love Aaron Judge and I recognize he just had one of the best offensive seasons we've seen in a long time in the game. Winning the batting title by 20 points while blasting 53 homers is total nonsense, especially when seven total hitters hit .300 or above in the entire league. Aaron Judge is a freak. We truly take his abilities for granted. For the first time in his career he carried the Yankees in the postseason, only to see no one else was there to help him out. It's a depressing reality to see him once again miss out on a ring. Winning 3 MVPs in 4 years is fucking crazy though, and the prime that he's continued to have during that stretch is legitimately historical. During an era of the game when pitching is at its most dominant, he continues to not miss a beat.

As for Cal Raleigh, sorry to all the offended catchers out there. I know the basis of their argument for him to win the award was solely based on Cal catching 120 games, but that wasn't enough to overcome how dominant Judge was as a hitter.

It's the best hitting season by a catcher ever and it will be remembered for a long time, but you can't justify giving him the MVP over Judge. I'm glad the voters agreed and didn't fall guilty to the catching narrative. I mean come on.

Again, all of these MVPs are great, but he desperately needs a ring during one of these. Get one and he's untouchable. He's already a living legend, but true immortality evades him until he's the last man standing in the postseason.
