We Got A Late Night Cryptic IG Post From The Red Sox Triston Casas And What The Hell Is He Talking About?

The first week of the Red Sox offseason has pretty much gone to form. 

Alex Bregman opts out. 
Trevor Story officially opts in. 

Lucas Giolito looks set to be a free agent. 

Then we got this cryptic post from Triston Casas late Tuesday night, and...what the hell is he talking about? 

"If we’re gonna have any chance at something decent it’s stuff like this that needs to be addressed , I’m going to try to be as transparent as possible… within reason . No delusion , just normalizing the tough conversation"

 Triston, Mut here. Just a few questions. 

Who is the 'we're' you're talking about? 
What needs to be decent? 
What's the 'stuff' that needs to be addressed?
Transparent about what?
What tough conversation are you trying to normalize? 

What might cause 'delusion?' 

That's just the start. 

Is there some sort of message in the photo he chose? Does he mean he's talking about the fans? Is he talking about a new contract? He's scheduled to be back on a one-year deal for the 2026 season, earning $1.5 million. 

Maybe it's related to his injury this past season? A healthy Casas would be a massive boost to the Red Sox offense in 2026.

The first baseman ruptured his patellar tendon running to first in a game back in May. Before he got hurt, he was having a terrible year, hitting just .182 and slugging just .303. 

In the past, Casas has engaged in some interesting habits, like shirtless pregame yoga on the field. 

He was very public with his comments last spring that the Sox should have kept all three of their star rookies on the Opening Day Roster.

"I think we’ve got some grown men up there right now that need to iron some things out. We need to show up and see what that first little taste of us altogether looks like. I think their time is going to come. And it could be earlier rather than later. But I think for right now the roster is beautiful."

Like it or not, he has always been a player willing to speak his mind, no matter what. 

He seems to be doing that with this IG post. I just have no clue what the hell he's talking about.
