Unbreakable: A Tribute To Strength Coach Kurt Hester
There have been so many deaths in the last 48 hours that my head is spinning. All of Barstool Sports is mourning the losses of both Nick Mangold & Barstool Beef two of the kindest souls I have ever met and gone far too young.
Over the weekend, Houston Cougars Strength Coach Kurt Hester passed away losing his battle with cancer.
I never met Coach Hester but know a bunch of people close to him. Hester was formerly the strength coach at Louisiana Tech & Tulane before going to Houston with Coach Willie Fritz when he left New Orleans.
Hester publicly shared his entire battle with cancer with the Unbreakable motto the last couple of years. He worked out daily until the bitter end inspiring thousands of people on the internet.
He laid his heart & soul out publicly in the most positive way with his life on the line. I never heard a negative word about him and he was a HELLUVA strength coach too.
Every day is a gift and all of our expiration days are coming someday. I can only hope to be 10% of the man Kurt Hester was in his cancer battle.
What a legacy he left on earth.
And the Houston Cougars pulled an upset at Arizona State Saturday in his honor. Hopefully he is smiling down from heaven. Clearly Hester did a great job with the Cougars as they are one of the biggest surprises in college football and now in the Top 25.
