Mike Evans Has A Broken Clavicle, To Be Out "Mostly Towards The End Of The Year"

Mike Evans returned from a hamstring injury tonight in Detroit and unfortunately got injured again, this time, much more serious. He was ruled out immediately with a concussion and shoulder injury but Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles confirmed that Evans broke his clavicle in his post game presser.

“He has a broken clavicle and he’ll be out mostly towards the end of the year. We’ll see what happens. But he broke it.” - Bucs HC Todd Bowles

That is a shame not only for the Buccaneers, who depend on him, but for his record 11 straight seasons of 1,000 yards. A streak which began his rookie year in 2014 with Josh McCown throwing him the ball. A record that is tied with Jerry Rice for most consecutive 1,000 yard seasons all-time. He barely broke it last year on the final play of the regular season vs. the Saints and it was an incredible moment for Evans and Buccaneers fans everywhere. That record meant a lot to everyone. And it's sad to see it end like this.

That being said, Bowles did provide some optimism by not ruling him out for the season. It feels like it's a wait and see, but ProFootballDoc, Dr. David Chao who is usually pretty accurate with his internet diagnoses, agreed it may not be fully season ending.

Hopefully the Bucs can hold on and get some good positioning in the postseason for an Evans return. We'll need you Mike! Get well soon!
