James Franklin Has To Look For Another Job In Coaching Or Broadcasting And Penn State Is Only Obligated To Pay The Salary Difference, According To FOS

This is some interesting context to the James Franklin contract that has been the talk of the Internet for a few days. There are no better jobs than a fired head coach in football, whether you're Brian Callahan or James Franklin who is owed $50 million in his contract buyout. I can't even fathom that number to not even coach football, but apparently Franklin is required to go looking for another job.

There's at least one job offer that would guarantee him not many hours worked, probably falls under a "broadcasting" scope, and doesn't pay a lot so he'd still stick it to Penn State to pay him millions:

In all seriousness, Franklin probably has to take a severe step down from what his job was last weekend and I'm not even sure the salary would come anywhere close. Who is out there looking for a coach that would take a flyer on him as HC after his resume shows he's a scared puppy every time the lights are the brightest? The streets are saying he'd give electric runny cream and not take any responsibility after paying for the best 5 star ice cream mix money can buy. Shameless.

Also, what does "required to look" mean? Does a simple Indeed search count as looking for a job? Does reading Big Cat's tweet count as looking for a job in media? He's gonna get a "how's the job search going James?" text from the AD who is losing sleep every night knowing they owe him $50 million and he's gonna have to come up with some excuse like he's a kid in his parents basement who likes playing Fortnite too much to get a shitty hourly retail gig.

What counts as another job in coaching? If Bishop Sycamore High School makes a public job offer for him to come coach up those fellas before another big matchup at IMG, does that count? Regardless, Franklin's gotta be trying to figure out every single way he can manage to stay at home and collect those checks without Penn State trying to play hooky. And JF, if you're reading this, the Mostly Sports couch probably would be willing to put out an offer as well. Good luck out there.
