The Least Shocking News In Football: The Titans Fired Brian Callahan (One Day After He Basically Threw Cam Ward Under The Bus)

This was blogged less than 24 hours ago. I wrote in that blog that Brian Callahan was basically trying to get himself fired because NFL teams, especially shitty teams, will side with the rookie No. 1 pick at quarterback over a 4-19 coach. That's just basic knowledge that was proven:

It's the least shocking move in all of football. Even more so when you saw this quote from Jeffery Simmons:

Why does that matter? It basically said Brian Callahan is a liar or dumb

[Source] - Simmons' brutally honest quote doesn't reflect well on an already embattled second-year coach, Brian Callahan, whose comment that he "felt good coming into the game" contradicts the player's assessment of the practice concerns.

Then again, Callahan didn't know the rules so he couldn't challenge a play:

Not great! Also not great when you remember the Titans fired Mike Vrabel for this. How do you fire Mike Vrabel and think Brian Callahan was the answer? Instead you gifted the Patriots probably the best coach from this past season's hires when you could have just had him yourself. You also think you can for sure get a better coach than Vrabel the second time around? That's what Titans fans should be the most pissed off about.

So there it is. An opening in the NFL world and one of the worst coaches getting hired before October ends. Does seem wrong to not at least give Vrabel the chance to coach against him this week. Should have given us that revenge game at least once.
