The Indiana Football Hoosiers Are Legitimate National Championship Contenders, Defeat #3 Oregon on The Road 30-20

They did it. They fucking did it. After shitting down their leg in humiliating fashion every time they played a truly competent football team last season, and sneaking into the playoffs to the dismay of college football fans across the country who simply wanted to watch a competitive playoff game... the 2025 Indiana Football Hoosiers are different.

What a football game. It had everything. Back and forth from start to finish. Both defenses hitting as hard as I've seen college football teams hit. Shoutout Oregon for the fake fake punt, which was arguably the most impressive punt call I've ever seen.

But the bottom line is, Indiana is for real this year. Last year they were for fake. But if you fly 2,000 miles across the country and beat the undefeated #3 Oregon Ducks in their own stadium, then you are a legitimate National Championship contender.

You could almost argue the game shouldn't have been as close as it was. Indiana let up an early touchdown on a busted coverage, and a pick 6 on the one bad decision Fernando Mendoza made all game.

Aside from that, Indiana was the better team all game long. If anything, that pick 6 just made their win all the more impressive. Because Fernando Mendoza bounced right back. The Hoosiers won despite their mistakes. They won despite committing a false start every other play because they're apparently never seen a defensive line shift pre-snap in their entire lives.

And there just can't be more than 1 receiver in college football better than Elijah Sarratt

Or more than a few running backs who run harder than Roman Hemby.

Or a coach more pissed of than Curt Cignetti

Indiana is officially for real. The quality of their wins is as good as anyones. I'd be lying to myself if I didn't say Penn State turning out to be a disgusting gross nasty dog water of a football team isn't bumming me out a bit. I'd love if Oregon's signature win wasn't over the most overrated/isappointing football team in recent memory. But aside from Ohio State, I don't think there's a team in the country who I'd expect Indiana to lose to. Indiana is a god damn football school.
