Behind a Phenomenal Trey Yesavage And An Offensive Avalanche, The Blue Jays Boat Race The Yankees Again And Are Now Just One Win Away From The ALCS

Boy did that suck. In a game where you thought the Yankees went in with the upper hand in the pitching department, they get fucking throttled and now are once again on the brink of elimination. Max Fried didn't have it at all. From the start they jumped all over him.
It was just never his day.
Eventually Boone saw enough and went with the hook in the 4th. That brought in Will Warren who was somehow even worse. If there was ever a shot the Yankees could mount a comeback in this game, Warren decided there would be none of that. You just knew Vladdy was gonna detonate on this pitch. Ball went to Saturn. Good God…
Hey you know what? Must be nice to see your superstar come through when you need him most. The guy you want up there to drop the hammer and hit you with a finisher. Vladdy has shown up brilliantly this postseason and rose to the occasion. Meanwhile Judge has not, only scratching out some singles to make his overall stat line look solid. When you need him to put a jolt into the team, he strikes out, chasing a non-competitive 3-2 pitch with the bases loaded and nobody out like he did in Game 1.
Now I don't think it's fair to go a sentence more without talking about Trey Yesavage. This dude only made three starts in the regular season and looks like this? A rookie getting the ball in the postseason? My god was he dominant. This splitter is a fucking joke. What are you supposed to do with this?
He exited after 5.1 IP without allowing a hit (big time home cooking with the scoring of the grounder off of Vladdy's glove) with 11 strikeouts and just one walk. He was masterful. Truly unbelievable. Again, that splitter is a cheat code. You don't see pitches with movement like that. The Yankees never had a read on him and constantly swung at splitters diving out of the zone. He honestly could have just thrown that one pitch and cruised. 16 swings and 11 whiffs on that demon pitch. Utter domination.
He rightfully got a giant standing ovation by the Jays faithful.
The Yankees did not show up in the slightest over these two games. Toronto was ready, chomping at the bit to get going. They look like a World Series team, while the Yankees resemble a bunch that were lucky to get by an injury riddled Red Sox team who was missing their best player.
Now we've been in this spot before back in the 2017 ALDS when Cleveland went up 2-0 at home and looked lights out. Up until Greg Bird's homer in Game 3 off of Andrew Miller, it looked like a sweep was inevitable. They found a way to push it to Game 5 and pulled that series out of their ass. Is this Toronto team better than that Cleveland squad? I'd comfortably say so, but hey who the fuck knows? In theory the pitching matchups should favor them in Games 3 and 4. That was the case today too and didn't mean dick. The bats have to get going early. Aaron Judge has to step up. Stanton must unload on one. They need the big swings and simply aren't getting them right now.
So far the Yankees are 2-0 when facing elimination this postseason. If they're to see a Game 4 that record will need to improve to 3-0. This fucking sucks.
