15 Year Old 'Adolescence' Star Owen Cooper Becomes The Youngest Male To Ever Win An Emmy, Which Was For The First Acting Gig Of His Life

If you watched the three episode short series 'Adolescence' earlier this year you kinda knew the kid playing Jamie was destined to at the very least be nominated for an Emmy. His acting was so good it was honestly scary. Well, turns out he won the damn award, becoming the youngest male (15) to ever take home an Emmy. Not only did he get the award, but he got to receive it from who else but Sydney Sweeney. No one had it better than Owen last night.
Went right in for the hug too. Pro move.

It's a well deserved win for Owen, he was so, so good in the series. What's insane is that 'Adolescence' was Owen's first ever acting gig. He had never been on a set before. Nuts.
Kid gave a pretty good speech too. Seemed genuinely stunned he won.
Cool moment before was Owen doing a fake interview without knowing it, all set up for his idol Jake Gyllenhaal to surprise him in the room.
Turns out that ducky was lucky.
Big shout out as well to his scene partners Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty who also came aware with hardware of their own.
Erin was a star, especially in the third episode when Jamie's house of cards come crumbling down. Apparently she's been robbed in the past for her role in 'The Crown,' but only my mom could attest to that.
If you haven't watched the series yet I'd give it a whirl. All three who won awards are destined for big things in the future. Is it crazy to think Owen Cooper should play a young Tom Riddle in the upcoming Harry Potter series? Feels like whatever he does moving forward he's going to crush. 15 years old and an Emmy winner. At 15 I was just about to enter high school, working as a camp counselor in the summer, and just learning that jerking off was fun. Different paths.
