Sports Are The Best- A Text Message From an 81-Year-Old Guy Thanking His Softball Teammates For Giving His Life Purpose Is Going Viral, And If You Don't Get A Little Teary Eyed Reading It, You Have A Giant Dump In Your Pants

This has been making the rounds on the ol' IG and tiktok today and in light of what an (extra) dumpster fire social media has been the past few days, I think it's important it got even more eyeballs on it. Here is the said text message - 

Man oh man. 

A famous philosopher from around these parts once said, "Some things are bigger than sports".

This right here is one of them.

One of the low-key worst parts about getting old is the loneliness factor. I can't even imagine being that guy's age and never married, or married and widowed, with no kids, or kids who don't give a fuck about me. The Kevin Hart bit about "death buddies" rings a little too much true.

So major props to these fellas for allowing this old-timer to play on their team. It's seriously so fucking awesome to see, and even more awesome to see how appreciative the guy is. Getting a text like that has really got to put a lot of shit into perspective for you. 

All I know is everybody on that thread better have responded to him.
