The Buccaneers Now Hold Sole Possession Of First Place In The NFC South After A Thrilling Win In Atlanta

The Buccaneers had been looking forward to today's game in Atlanta for awhile. Not only because today was the first game of the 2025 NFL season but because they would get another crack at the Falcons who beat them twice last year. They got out to a rough start with Bijan Robinson taking a pass 50 yards to the house on the third play of the game.

In the 2nd Quarter, Bucs rookie WR Emeka Egbuka put them up 10-7 and the Bucs seemed like they wouldn't look back.

But a missed FG kept the door open and the Falcons got some help from the officials to take the lead late. Then Baker Mayfield and Emeka Egbuka went to work again!

After a missed XP, the Falcons drove the ball down into FG range and had their chance to send the game into OT, but Kicker Youngoe Koo missed a 44 yard FG wide right to give the Bucs the win.

It was a thrill to watch sitting in the Gambling Cave next to my fellow Bucs fan, Zac.

Down in Tampa, Coach Gruden loved seeing it too.

The Bucs now move to 1-0 and with Carolina and New Orleans' losses, move to sole possession of the first place in the NFC South. Great way to start the season! Go Bucs!
