The Chiefs Chaotic Fire Drill To End The First Half On a 59 Yard Field Goal Was Perfection

The Chiefs offense may not be what it used to be. You see a ton of check downs now, with very few deep attempts down the field. But don't kid yourself, this is still the elite of the elite. Just watch the play above.

Sure it's ingrained in every football team to be ready for instances like this where you're ruled in bounds with no timeouts and can't spike the ball. In theory everyone should know what to do, but there are a lot of dumb teams out there. Could you imagine the 2024 Eberflus led Bears trying to execute this? There's a better chance they don't even try and just jog to the tunnel for half time.

That was perfectly executed. Noah Gray had the wherewithal to sprint back to the middle of the field and find the official to hand the ball to. The big guys sprinting onto the field knew to raise their hands to the ref and report as eligible while they get in formation. And despite all that chaos, they get the snap off with two seconds to spare as Butker drills a 59 yarder with ease. You wanna know why the Chiefs win all those one score games? I mean yes, Patrick Mahomes is unbelievable when it matters most, but it's that kind of flawless execution that separates them from a ton of teams. You gotta be so fucking good to beat these guys and can't make any kind of stupid mistakes yourself. Stupid mistakes like a rookie RB running out of bounds on 3rd down that ensures the Chiefs getting the ball back.

Three precious points that could very well decide this game. I shouldn't be impressed by the Chiefs anymore, but here I am.
