Jayden Daniels, Justin Herbert, Jordan Love, and Michael Penix Jr. Are All Unlikely To Win A Super Bowl For A Very Unusual Reason

The NFL season kicked off last night and reigning Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts squared off against the Cowboys led by Dak Prescott. Everyone is looking to make a pre-season pick for the Super Bowl this year and there are a few teams you can likely cross off the list right away for this simple reason: the name of their starting Quarterback.

35 different starting Quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl and only FIVE of them have had a first name they go by that's six letters or longer. The list is:

Johnny Unitas

Peyton Manning

Russell Wilson

Patrick Mahomes

Matthew Stafford

Signal Callers that go by shortened versions of their name like Joe Montana, Ben Roethlisberger were called shortened versions of their longer names on their birth certificates Joesph and Benjamin. But it's what you go by. If Steve Young went by Steven Young (his real name is Jon Steven Young for what it's worth).

So I asked the question today in our Supreme Debate segment on FS1 - can Michael Penix Jr. win a Super Bowl?

Maybe if he goes by Mike. But Jordan Love, Jayden Daniels, and Justin Herbert are in trouble. Will they be the sixth QB to ever win a Super Bowl with a first name they go by with at least six letters?

That was just the beginning of Supreme Debate.
