End Of An Era - Messi Was Seen Crying On The Field, Scored Twice (Of Course) In What Is Likely His Last Ever Game In Argentina

Lionel Messi might play his 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕 home game for Argentina tonight as they face Venezuela.  Messi: “It will be a 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉, so my family will be there with me: my wife, my children, my parents, my siblings. We’re going to live it like that. I don’t know what will happen next, if there will be friendlies or more matches after Venezuela.”

The single best soccer player I've ever seen and of this era is nearing the end. Not shocking considering Messi is 38 years old and has been talking about retiring from Argentina for some time, still feels like he'll play the World Cup next year as his last one. But this is the end of an era. You could make a case that Messi's 10 Argentina jersey is the most known jersey in the world? I don't think that's an insane argument to have considering how massive soccer is across the world. If it's not 1, it's very much on the short list, also helps that Argentina has one of the most iconic jerseys in all of sports.

The dude has done it all. He's won at every level, he brought a World Cup title back to Argentina, he denied Salt Bae and shoved him into a locker

So it's only fitting for Messi to score twice in what seems like this last ever game in Argentina. 

Messi is one of those guys where you just have to respect greatness. Make any jokes you want about soccer, but Messi is electric to watch. Plus, he’s not a penalty merchant like someone else in this era who never won a World Cup. He didn’t take money in a league where no one watches, Messi did the real challenge. Play in Cincinnati and Kansas City on a Tuesday night. 

So shout out Messi. The guy earned the right to cry on the field. Enjoy greatness while we still have a chance to watch him.
