The Rest Of The NFL Should Be Extremely Worried About How Close Jalen Hurts Is Getting To Michael Jordan

One of the easiest ways to become better is to constantly surround yourself with people who are better than you. If you ever come to realize that you're the smartest person in a room, then you should probably try to find a different room.

But a lot of people feel comfortable in a position where they are the top dog. You want to feel like you are the best, you don't have anyone around you who pushes you to be better, you get complacent, and your growth stays stagnant. It takes a special amount of drive to seek out the help and advice from people who are better than you, and have already achieved the same things you want to achieve.

Jalen Hurts has that drive. We've heard previously that he's constantly calling up Peyton Manning to get advice from him. Seems like a pretty good guy to learn everything you possibly can about the quarterback position. And over the past year or so, he's gotten himself closer and closer with Michael Jordan. One of the most maniacally driven athletes to ever exist, and he's Jalen's guest at the season opener.

Jalen Hurts just won a Super Bowl. He was named the Super Bowl MVP. Plenty of guys would take that success as a sign that they're at the top already. That they have nothing left to learn because they've already reached the top. Instead, Jalen Hurts goes out and gets one of the greatest winners in the history of sports to be his mentor. A guy who was never satisfied with just winning a championship, but wanted to win them all.

And that's what it all comes down to. That's what people need to realize about Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Nothing else matters except for winning. It doesn't matter how it happens, all that matters is that they have more points up on the board than the other team when the clock hits 0:00. If that means it takes Jalen running the ball in himself twice on the night despite only targeting AJ Brown once all game? Then so be it.

There's going to be another game at some point this season where the Eagles win because AJ Brown had 11 receptions on 13 targets for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns. There's going to be another game at some point this season where the Eagles win because Jalen Hurts threw the ball for 280+ yards and 4 touchdowns. Last night wasn't that night. It didn't take that to win.

Fans might not always love it. Fantasy owners might not always love it. I'm sure AJ Brown doesn't always love it. But Jalen Hurts is the only guy on the field who has the ball in his hands every single play. And if all he cares about is the final score at the end of each game, then the Eagles are always going to win more games than not. That's a pretty important piece of the puzzle if you're trying to win 6 championships.
