South Carolina Pulled Off An Epic Comeback Win Over South Dakota In The LLWS After Being Down To Their Last Strike In The 6th And Down 5 Runs In The 7th
What an absolute CLASSIC of a game. When all the dopes in the replies ask why I enjoy this sporting event (which by the way is the last true form of amateurism on the planet) this is the reason why. ALWAYS unpredictability, ALWAYS the opportunity for what looks like a blowout to come down to the wire, and ALWAYS some shit you feel like you never saw before.
Last night was an ABSOLUTE classic.
South Carolina down 1-0 in the 6th loads the bases and ends up drawing a walk to tie it.
With some controversy of course.
I personally think it’s too close to call. Ump gets a pass from me here.
And off to extras we go where South Dakota stretches it to a 6-1 lead.
South Carolina is up against it entering the inning but sure didn’t hang their heads as they came out knowing this game wasn’t over.
In large part to the pump up speech from their coach.
Some big hits (with some suspect base running) , some timely walks via patient at bats, and then a MASSIVE hit to ice it despite the RF from South Dakota giving his best effort. Just a classic upon classics at The LLWS. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat just inches apart from each other with South Carolina jumping for joy and South Dakota so heartbroken they can’t even move from their spots. That’s how it goes on the biggest stage.

Worth noting… some terrific sportsmanship from South Carolina kids after the win.

Well done by them.
And of course … we would come to find out, with this South Carolina team … some things are bigger than sports.

Absolute CLASSIC of a game. Been an unreal tournament overall.
