"Did We Win?" - Damar Hamlin Has Gotten a FULL Back Tattoo So He Can Remember When He Almost Died On The Football Field

From the standpoint of getting a tattoo that's genuinely meaningful to you, Damar Hamlin knocked it out of the park. Considering all that he persevered through during that time... the way he fought back onto the field and became a better player than he was before... I'd imagine that was the biggest moment of his life. It will almost certainly go down as the defining moment of his career in the eyes of most sports fans. It's a moment that has, and probably will continue to shape the rest of his life until the day he dies permanently. That's not just some flashy tattoo for the sake of looking cool. It's meaningful, it represents something important to him, it legitimately is all of the things people usually do backflips trying to "claim" that their tattoo is.

Real quick question though - Where are we at with the Damar Hamlin incident? Like, have we fully reached the "Since he's ok we can make lighthearted jokes about it" stage yet? I mean, he is ok. He's doing phenomenal. He's gotten significantly better at football since the injury. You could argue that dying on the field was the b... never mind.

That is a tattoo. I'm not even sure where to begin. For starters, incredible line work. A lot of tattoo artists would have made that thing look ridiculous. But when you go under anesthesia for hours, and give a quality tattoo artist ample time to work, no matter what the tattoo is, it's going to look awesome.

Now if I can be critical for just a second... it was a pretty big miss by Damar Hamlin to not include the Damar Hamlin Memorial Ambulance on his Damar Hamlin Memorial Back Tattoo.

Aside from that, no notes. I love the "Did We Win?" self-quote across the top of the back. It's bold. Not many people can pull it off. Not many people have said things iconic enough that they tattoo their own words on their body. I only wish he'd also included a picture of his doctor, with a speech bubble saying, "Yes, you won. You've won the game of life".

But at least he managed to fit in an entire Bo Jackson tweet that provides a sufficient answer to his question.

I would hazard a guess and say Damar Hamlin is the only person on Earth with the Paycor logo tattooed on his body, other than William H. Paycor himself. I'm a fan of any tattoo that is unique. You CANNOT say that Damar Hamiln's Damar Hamlin tattoo is not unique.

The "Pray For Damar" on his own back is a great flex. The man had the entire American football world, believers and non-believers alike, sending their heartfelt thoughts and prayers to him. Without the thoughts and the prayers, who knows where Damar Hamlin would be today.

And just in case you forgot what time slot the game that Damar Hamlin technically died in was played, no need to fear. You can find the answer right there next to flag bearer Siran Neal. It was Monday Night Football.

One more thing. I know those fan tattoo are based off of real pictures. I believe the people on the left are healthcare workers. But the fans on the bottom are definitely Bills fans in the stands. I like the idea of a random Bills fan seeing this picture and realizing, "Holy shit. I made Damar Hamlin's back tattoo."

Hell of a tattoo. A great way for him to remember what he went through every time he turns around backwards and looks over his shoulder into a mirror. And for anybody who tries to say it's strange or weird to get a tattoo about yourself… Keep in mind, there is a good chance that this is Damar Hamlin's clone. If anybody owes Damar Hamlin a full back tattoo, it's Damar Hamlin's clone.
