A Brewers Fan Called 911 Because He Wasn't Given His Free Hamburger As A Reward For The Brewers Winning Their 12th Straight Game
This Brewers team are by far and away the best story in baseball. These guys have EXPLODED this summer, what a run for them. They got to Skenes yesterday and blew away the Pirates to win their 12th game in a row, pushing their record to an incredible 37-9 since June 19th. Only 4 losses since July 7th! It's mid-August! These guys were wayyyy behind the Cubs and have absolutely fucking steamrolled them the last few weeks. They're like a run away train demolishing everything in their path, 4 straight sweeps for the Brew Crew. They sit at 75-44, by far the best record in baseball, what a fun summer for the folks in Milwaukee. This team is fun, they're fast, and they're hitting the hell out of the ball. Pitching has been really good, and they seem to be getting better and better, they're just not slowing down at all.
Not only are they a wagon, they're also finding ways to give back to the fans....like winning everyone in the state of Wisconsin a free hamburger. George Webb Restaurants have had a promo since the 1940s that said Wisco residents win a free burger if the Brew Crew could win 12 straight. I hope you're hungry Brewers fans because for only the third time in promo history, you're getting free burgers!
But let's be clear, you couldn't just go to one of the locations and get your burger....you have to wait. One (probably hammered) Brewers fan didn't get that memo and was pretty pissed off he couldn't get his free burger.
This fan called the cops! He went through the whole process of calling 911 just because he wasn't being given a free burger! He's got Brewers fever and the only prescription is a damn burger! Insane move to actually get upset and call the police over it, but my guess is this guy had a few drinks while watching the game and needed dinner. He'll have to wait till later on Thursday when the restaurant announces the date for the free burger. Until then, he'll have to pay for his food. Not only are the burgers not ready yet, the game wasn't even over and this dude was trying to claim his price! I did love how you could hear the tone in the dispatchers voice, they've never been so over a call. Not an ounce of him thought this was funny.
They should make this a national holiday in Milwaukee, everyone should get off work for it and meet up to enjoy their burgers. The George Webb restaurant is loading up too, expecting to give away over 100,000 free burgers when the time comes. That's a hell of a lot of meat courtesy of the Brewers. Hell of a time up there for this franchise, they're going to be a fun team to watch come playoff time.
PS. Anytime a team does a food giveaway I can't help but think of this scene
