You're A Moron If You Want This - The NCAA Is Deciding In The 'Coming Weeks' If The NCAA Tournament Is Going To Expand To 76 Teams For THIS Season
Here we go again. More expansion talk, the more it sounds like people are leaning yes. Let me be clear, you're a moron if you want this. This doesn't help the sport. This doesn't do anything that people want. I said it when we first had expansion talk, I will blog this to the death because of how stupid it is. It's hard for me to get this riled up and beat the drum about one specific thing, but that's how much I love the NCAA Tournament.
And I know what the morons, idiots and people who don't pay attention will say. 'Oh it's more NCAA Tournament games, that's awesome.' No it's not. We already have these play-in games. They are called conference tournaments. We also have 30 regular season games that gives you plenty of time to win. I don't feel bad for the dogshit team that finishes like 9th in the Big 10 and doesn't make it. Win games, get rewarded.
That's the other thing. Morons will say look at all the runs we've had, this will help mid-majors. No it won't. It might help a mid-major a year, this is going to help the power conferences. Remember how much we all talked shit about Virginia scoring 35 points in the play-in game a year ago? Or watching San Diego State get boatraced this year? Yeah, get ready for more of that because these are bad teams getting invited.
The other argument morons have is 'look how many teams are in Division I, this is hardly a big number compared to amount of teams.' Great, how many of those teams are actually contenders? How many of those teams do we need in Division I? Little hint is we don't need 364 teams.
The NCAA has a million problems right now. People want the transfer portal regulated all while still giving players some power. Work on that, you know common sense like one free transfer then you sit out if you want to transfer again unless your coach leaves. People want the good old days, you know, when the Pac-10 had 10 teams or when the ACC didn't have teams on the Pacific Ocean in the conference. But, no, take the one thing America agrees is perfect and ruin it. Fucking idiots.
