Give Him The Emmy: Stephen A. Smith Showed Up As 'Brick' On General Hospital, Promptly Shoots An Assassin In His Scene
[Source] - The 57-year-old ESPN talking head appeared on the April 28 episode of the ABC soap opera as Brick, the discreet everything-man who is often employed by Sonny (Maurice Benard).
Brick arrived at the hospital where Sonny was being treated just in time to save the mob boss' life, as an assassin posing as a nurse was scheming to take him out.
Smith made his first appearance as Brick on the soap opera in 2016 and has been the Corinthos family's surveillance and tech expert ever since
Sure, why the hell not? Look, whether you like Stephen A. or not, the guy is everywhere. You can't look at a sporting event, flick on ESPN or anything without him there. That now applies to General Hospital. Quick shout out to General Hospital, no idea how shows like that are still going. Soaps will outlive all of us and it's not even close. The first episode of General Hospital was 1963. Pablo Picasso was still alive when General Hospital started. Hell, he caught the first decade of General Hospital, probably liked it too.
I need to know more about this, mostly because I'll never watch the show. It's not his first time playing Brick, which is a horrendous name for a mob guy, probably because you hear Brick and think Anchorman. Second would be Brink, because it's too close of a name and that movie ruled too. So he just shows up from time to time and plays hero? Not a bad gig. I don't know if Brick is supposed to be a good or bad guy, but you can't have Stephen A. play a good guy.
This has gotta be the best gig though. Not necessarily General Hospital, but just popping in from time to time to play some badass in a show. Yeah, sign me up for that. In fact I'd love nothing more than to be someone to help out The Family in the next Fast and Furious.
At least he's getting rightfully roasted for it by his co-workers
Incredible cameo.
