Halle Berry Asked The Internet What Their Favorite Rap Song Was That Mentioned Her. There Are A Ton, But Here Are My Top Ten
Every once in a while, the blog gods throw me a meatball right down the pipe.
Halle Berry and golden-era rap music. Might as well be linguine and clams because this is a topic that couldn't be more in my wheelhouse.
"Bisexual Gnat" posted this tweet over the weekend and wouldn't you fuckin know it, the one and only Halle Berry stumbled across it and threw it a quote tweet.
The Twittersphere went wild, digging up some gems (more on this below) from yesteryear, and also some newer tracks that I honestly had never heard.
But this isn't the first time Halle has basked in the spotlight. She loves the rap references.
Our boy Sean Evans even asked her about it during her Hot Ones interview and said she is "flattered" by how many of them shout her out.
Since Halle loves hearing her name mentioned so kindly, in so many songs, it's only right that I run down my personal favorites. Keep in mind, I asked google how many songs Halle Berry's name gets dropped and even google lost count.
Here we go -
A$AP Rocky Feat. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar - Fuckin' Problems
Wild how big this song was 12-13 years ago, and how huge all three of these became. Also crazy how much ASAP and Kendrick hate Drake now.
Line: “I love bad bitches, that’s my f**kin’ problem.”
Kendrick shouts: "Halle Berry! Hallelujah!"
One of the most memorable punch-ins of the 2010s.
Wu-Tang Clan - Campfire
Line: “Long-legged Halle Berry starlet.”
Ghostface delivers it with so much reverence, it sounds like scripture.
Yeezy - "R.I.P."
Line: “I ain’t just talkin’, I’ve been around the block, Halle Berry, but I still ain’t got no Oscar.”
Jeezy’s self-reflection about fame, using Halle as a parallel for beauty and success. This song is still a banger.
The Game – “Wouldn’t Get Far” (feat. Kanye West)
Line: “Even Halle Berry’d do it.”
Game calling out the whole industry and Halle catches a strray for clout. Vintage 2000s messiness.
Missy Elliott – “Work It”
Line: “Don’t I look like a Halle Berry poster?”
Missy flexing so hard it should be illegal. And she was right. she did look like that poster.
Mobb Deep Feat Nas - "It's Mine"
Line: “Halle Berry, you could get it. The world’s mine.”
Mobb Deep keeps it gritty while referencing Halle’s allure. This song was so fire. Havoc sampled the theme from Scarface for this beat. Nas kills the hook. What an underrated track.
Hurricane Chris – "Halle Berry (She's Fine)"
Line: “Halle Berry, Halle Berry, Halle Berry, Halle Berry…”
The ultimate tribute to Halle. Chris’s entire track is an ode to her beauty, with a hook that makes it clear: she’s fine. The anthem for every girl who looks like Halle (or thinks she does).
Ludacris – "Southern Hospitality"
Line: “Better yet stay down like Halle Berry’s hair cut.”
God this song knocked so hard. One of The Neptunes best beats ever. Luda brought it back to the classic days of Halle's short pixie cut era. That clean look is the metaphor for keeping it tight.
Jay-Z – “Party Life”
A tuxedo in song form. This song is a sleeper in Jay-Z's catalog. DJ Riz (Crooklyn Clan) used to drop this in all his sets, with an absolute fire beat underneath it and sped up. Brings back great memories.
Line: “Tighter than them jeans that Halle Berry wore.” Jay in his smooth criminal era.
Young Buck - "Let Me In"
Line: “Halle Berry… bad as hell, yeah, that’s how I like ‘em.”
Young Buck kept it straightforward and direct, highlighting Halle as the ultimate ideal. I have a confession to make. I fuckin loved Young Buck's first album. It sucks he pissed 50 Cent off and caused him to destroy him, because he had a great sound and made some fun songs.
Gucci Mane – "Freaky Gurl"
Line: “Got a girl named Halle, she be in Miami.”
Gucci threw in Halle as a metaphor for top-tier women. If she’s hanging with Gucci, you know she’s on that level. It’s effortless.
French Montana Feat Drake, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne – “Pop That”
Line: “I’m with Halle Berry or Hallelujah.”
A punchline that became a meme. Drake sounding like he’s bragging and crying at the same time.
T.I. - "What You Know"
Line: “She fine as Halle Berry’s cousin.”
T.I. gives Halle her well-earned props while adding a little extra spice by keeping it family-related. When this song first came out, and you would drop it in the club the place would erupt. Man I miss these days of quality hip hop.

Waka Flocka Flame – "Round of Applause"
Line: “Give her a round of applause, she’s Halle Berry fine.”
This one was a true strip club anthem for the fine ones. Such a great song. Makes me miss DJing.
Nelly - "E.I."
Line: “My whips appeal to you, Halle Berry, boo.”
Nelly’s a party starter here, tying his smooth flow to the iconic beauty of Halle, using her name as shorthand for what every guy wants.
Kanye West – “New Workout Plan”
Glow-up anthem for the early-aughts girlies. God do I miss old Kanye.
Line: “Pull a Halle Berry or a Beyoncé number one.”
OutKast - "Elevators (Me & You)"
Line: “Even Halle Berry done tried to be a singer.”
Think I saved the best for last here. André 3000’s subtle critique here, calling out the attempts by stars like Halle to cross into music. Smooth, introspective, and very much on brand for OutKast.
There's gotta be well over 100 songs that name drop Halle. If I left any out worth mentioning drop them in the comments.
