Rumors Are Swirling On The Internet That The Bears Are Trading Up For Ashton Jeanty

Trade up? Trade back? Stay put? More smoke coming out of Halas than the Vatican. Is Ben Devine a real person? Who knows? Who cares?  I love it. I like the drama. I love the player.  There hasn't been much juice around this draft and basically zero around what the Bears could potentially get at #10. It's been boring. Last year, the Bears were the stars of the Draft. This year has been flat. You just hope to get a starter if you're not going to get a star.

This rumor has me over the moon. I've been round and round and back home to a place where I want Ashton Jeanty on the Bears. Apparently I am in the minority of Bears fans

58% of responses at the time of the blog saying they don't like this proposed trade.

Here is what we know...

1) Ben Johnson didn't love Swift when he had him in Detroit meaning that he views RB as a position of need.

2) Safe to say that the Bears don't have many star players on the roster

3) Feeling by all draft people is that this draft kind stinks and lacks elite players.

4) Bears have some trade chips

5) Ben Johnson has drafted a running back high in Detroit that everyone scoffed at when he took Gibbs

6) Ashton Jeanty is pretty sick

7) Having sick players is good.

I would love to have Mason Graham. I would be fine with Simmons or Banks. I would trust Ben Johnson if he wanted to go in another direction.

I would be giddy about Jeanty in a Ben Johnson offense. Tickled, even. You hope the o-line is drastically improved after free agency. A good summer of development for Caleb and Rome. Then you add a running back who can make defenses nervous in the run game and the passing game. That is a fun recipe and one that makes you think by default that Johnson believes the rest of the roster is in pretty good shape. Football might be fun in Chicago this fall.

We did a mock draft for the top 10 with all Barstool personalities.
