Mental Warfare: Rory Refused To Say A Single Word To Bryson During Their Final Round At The Masters
Let me be very clear, no one should give a single shit if people talk during rounds or not. This is the Masters, this is professional sports. I know social media is far from the real world, but the fact people are actually upset about this or making a big deal about it just shows the morons we have walking among us. Now, I do love this. There's the obvious history between Bryson and Rory:
Rory was trying to achieve the career grand slam, get the decade+ drought of not winning a majors and everything that comes along with it. Did it work though? No one fucking knows because Rory played one of the most chaotic rounds you possibly could, especially to win The Masters. He was choking early, choking late and then threw some darts to win. It made no sense, but somehow fit perfectly for Rory.
Not sure what the reporter was trying to get at here. I say all that to bring up the point Bryson vs Rory is sort of the perfect rivalry in golf right now. LIV vs PGA, USA vs Europe, Ryder Cup, majors and everything that comes along with it. Bryson has tried to turn into the man of the people, going out and celebrating with them, the YouTube stuff. Meanwhile Rory doesn't want to talk to media and is more reserved. This has some juice to be a rivalry, not saying it's filled with hate or anything like that, but Bryson vs Rory at majors should be a thing.
Not speaking to someone for 18 holes though? That's how you start the mental warfare. Only thing that would be worse is just hitting that person with a 'k' every time they said something. Nothing wrong with it at all, but it's just another part of the Rory vs Bryson stuff.
