UFC 314 In Miami Is Going To Be Awesome Tonight
UFC 314 goes down in Miami tonight at the Kaseya Center, a card headlined by Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes - but also featuring Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett vs Michael Chandler in a five round co-main event, Jean Silva vs Bryce Mitchell (who thinks Hitler was a good guy), and some more BANGERS - and I can't freaking wait. It's actually the most excited I think I've been for a UFC card since at least November, and would be absolutely stunned if the action didn't deliver tonight....so I'm basically writing this blog for all of my friends who sometimes check in on a Saturday afternoon to see if the event is worth buying. Tonight is one of those nights I would say yes without hesitation.
There's just so many questions that will be answered tonight. Will Diego Lopes realize the dream he's been chasing all his life, or will Alexander Volkanovski snap back into form as one of the greatest featherweights in the history of the game? Will Paddy The Baddy move right into the Lightweight Top 10 or will a five-round Chandler fight be too much to handle? Will Jean Silva knock the bigotry outta Bryce Mitchell's skull or will the heel disappoint everyone and be victorious? Hell, in that case, does Joe Rogan give Bryce Mitchell a live microphone on PPV? That's another question that could be answered!
Being the event is in Dave's backyard and Paddy is competing in the biggest fight of his life, he wanted to be there to support the former Barstool athlete - and he was kind enough to invite me to sit with him and the celebs tonight. It'll be my first UFC card not attending as "media" since McGregor/Khabib (don't remind me) and that may mean a lack of blogs tonight depending on arena WiFi - but hopefully I'll be rubbing elbows with Miles Teller and Glen Powell or something.
