The Amateur Champion Who Peed in Rae's Creek is Dating the Golfing World's Next Great Girlfriend

As I'm posting this, US Amateur Champion Jose Luis Ballester has yet to tee off in the second round at Augusta. And while he's the low amateur at 4-over, he's tied for 64th. So with the cut at 50 and ties, we're unlikely to see him over the weekend. And yet, he's already left his mark on this tournament. In the way a dog marks his territory:

Between peeing in the sacred waters of America's most beloved creek, wearing a hat that's apparently meant to be read in a rearview mirror like "ECNALUBMA," and generally giving the vapors to all the golf purists, he's managed to do two things. Make a name for himself. And give further evidence to a theory that didn't need any more proof:

Women love a bad boy.

Welcome to the show, Hayden Riley James! This is how we jump into a big weekend at The Masters. Forget the leaderboard. That'll change 100 times between today and tomorrow. I want the off-the-course drama – like the internet tracking down the next big Masters star. 

I think Hayden is in for a big few days here. Let's see how she attacks it. 

Big days indeed. At least until Ballester misses the cut.  James' Instagram bio mentions she was the "@mastersofbalayage blondes winner’24," whatever that happens to be:

As far as "how she attacks it," I'm going to go ahead and predict she's got a great career ahead of her as a Golf Girlfriend:

Obviously, Hayden is new on the scene. We shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. But I don't know how you could not see greatness in her future. Running onto the 18th green as Ballester putts out to win a tourney. Posing in matching outfits with the Ryder Cup wives. Trying to outdo Paulina Gretzky. Making stinkeye at the new girlfriend of some recently divorced legend. She just gives off that vibe like she was born to this life. And is ready for anything the world of being a PGA/LIV golf girlfriend can throw at her. 

Ballester is going to have to clean up his act if he doesn't want to be treated like a pariah by the golf world. But as far as dating goes, he's already a champion.
