"I'm Taking My Words And I'm Throwing Them Out There" - Ja Morant Gave An All Time Spinzone While Denying That He's Doing A Grenade Celebration

Once the NBA decided to essentially ban Ja Morant from doing his finger gun celebration, it was only a matter of time before he came up with something else, and you knew he was going to be extremely petty about it. So it wasn't all that surprising that immediately after getting fined for doing the finger gun celebration giant "fuck you" to Adam Silver and the NBA, Ja decided to up the ante and debut what was very clearly a grenade throwing celebration.

Personally, I love the move. That's a fun and create way to make your point while not being a complete dick about it. Nowhere in the rule book does it say you can't throw grenades, so really the league's hands are tied. Already facing push back that they are only targeting Ja with these celebration restrictions, that puts them in a tough place. Adam Silver just has to sit back and take it.

While the celebration itself is a decent replacement for the finger guns, the spinzone that we got from Ja last night about it might be one of the most insane things I've ever seen

“Listen, it's not what you think it is. I'm taking my words and I'm throwing them out there and then I'm going to block out the noise that's what I'm doing. So when you see me do that, that's what I'm doing. I'm saying what I got to say to the world and block out the noise in the midst of what's coming back my way. That’s how it's going to be.”

Brilliant. I had to check around to make sure this was a real quote because it's such a hilarious spinzone that I have no choice but to respect it. There's no way for Adam Silver and the league office to technically prove this isn't what Ja is doing, even though the actual footage might tell a different story

Is that him pulling out the pin on a grenade, launching it into the crowd, and then blocking his ears? Or, is it him taking the words out of his mouth and throwing them out there and then blocking out the noise? It's hard to say! I believe we call that plausible deniability? I'm not exactly a lawyer, I just watch a shit ton of Law & Order, but I'm pretty sure that's what we're seeing here.

Even if we all can see what he's doing given the context of not being allowed to shoot finger guns, his spinzone as to what he's actually doing is both brilliant and hilarious. Finally, Ja got some good PR advice on how to deal with this whole ordeal and apparently, if you think this is him throwing a grenade, that's a YOU problem and not a Ja problem.

I can't lie, that spinzone is a 10 out of 10, with no notes.

With the finger gun celebration, there's no debate as to what he was doing. But this? There's enough ambiguity where even if you think he's full of shit with that explanation, you can't completely rule it out. No chance the NBA can fine Ja for throwing his words out and then blocking out the noise, so this is pretty much a checkmate.
