Ready For Augusta: Viktor Hovland Compared Talking About His Low Moments On The Course To Eminem's Final Rap Battle In '8 Mile'
Hold on. Before we get to the 8 Mile comparison, we gotta take a moment to look at Hovland's sweater here
That's a confident man. That's a man who is ready to compete at Augusta. You don't wear a sweater like that if you're not liking your game. You wear something bland, you show up and just do your stuff. He missed the cut last year, he needs to get back to a top-10. So what does he do?
Compare himself to this:
Hovland needs to make this a thing now. He's still young enough to be in the age where you just quote movies and it plays. He should compare every round to a random scene in a movie. Most importantly it can't be Tin Cup, Caddyshack, Happy Gilmore or any other golf movie. He should have to compare a shot to something in like Black Sheep or Beverly Hills Ninja. I do think the final rap battle in 8 Mile gets reference way too much and often incorrectly.
Hovland can't go out and miss the cut now. You can't wear that sort of sweater, drop the 8 Mile reference and go like +6. I'm not saying he has to win, he just has to compete. That feels like the bar here when you drop the comparison. I do love Hovland though. Guy will talk about UFO's and make movie comparisons. Get me to Thursday.
